The International Studies Program at the University of California, Irvine invites applications from outstanding scholars involved in critical interdisciplinary global research with substantive foci in political, sociocultural, historical, legal, geographical and economic issues to apply for a tenure-track assistant professor position. All candidates with a research agenda that engages complex global issues and cuts across foci in creative ways will be considered. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline in the social sciences or humanities. Candidates should address explicitly how critical and global perspectives are deployed and/or local-global dimensions feature in their research. The International Studies Program is planning to become a full department with a unique doctoral program. The Program in International Studies is establishing a pool of qualified applicants as Lecturers to teach courses in International Studies, including but not limited to International Political Economy, Regional Studies (Middle East and Africa), Humanitarianism, NGOs, Public Policy, Gender, and Global Trade.
These positions may be available during Winter 2018 and/or Spring 2018 quarters. We are seeking candidates with strong teaching credentials who can contribute to the quality of our undergraduate program. The number of courses available varies by quarter and year.
Salary Range: $5,700 - $6,200 per course
Qualifications: Ph.D. preferred in the related area of International Studies disciplines.
Positions May Be Available: Winter 2017 and Spring 2017
