The following activities on global issues are designed to reach out to the local community.

• International Studies Public Forum: The International Studies Public Forum is a bi-weekly lecture series open to interested members of the public.
• Global Connect: Global Connect is a UC Irvine program aimed at introducing underrepresented middle and high school students to the concept and implications of globalization in the 21st century.
• UCI History Project: The UC Irvine History Project provides an institutional framework for collaboration between the UCI History Department and K-12 history/social science teachers in Orange County.
• Humanities Out There: Humanities Out There is an educational partnership between UCI's School of Humanities and the Santa Ana Unified School District, in cooperation with UCI's Center for Educational Partnerships and UCI's California History-Social Science Project.
